This baseball-themed rag is named after Cy Young, a pitcher for the Boston Red Sox at the turn of the 20th century. As ragtime was all the rage, circa 1900, I thought it would be appropriate to write a piece about the sport that was all the rage then. The trio mimics a certain theme that is commonly played on stadium organs, plus the ending quotes a certain baseball song.
