"Reminds me of Mother Russia."

Dr. Karina Bruk is a top-notch teacher, coach, and pianist extraordinaire. She has been my mentor for several years and saved my piano career. In writing her portrait, I thought of her favorite composers, as well as her native Russia. Though I began the work as a march, I quickly realized its potential as a sonata allegro. The final result is a neo-classical work, twisting traditional sonata form, harmony, and rhythm.
